Supplemental Warning

Lighting

Have you ever wondered why we’re all hearing about more and more bus accidents on the news, but you rarely hear about police, fire truck, or ambulance accidents?

We did too.

After extensive research we found lighting plays a major role. The University of Michigan reports using LED lighting gives trailing motorists 22 feet of extra stopping distance.

So why don’t we use LED strobe lighting on school buses? Well great news! As of late 2018, Ohio schools can now add supplemental LED warning lights on the front and rear of their buses.

BusPartners Safety Bi-Lighting® adds a layer of safety for our children - using the highest quality LED strobe lights - meeting every requirement set by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. See Supplemental Warning Lights at: https://statepatrol.ohio.gov/doc/SchoolBusOptionList.pdf.

Trust the experts. We have more than a decade of experience working at and with school districts in the area. We know the inspectors, we have conversations with the State Highway Patrol, and we research every approved option.

LED lights may not prevent all accidents, but what is the value of increasing reaction time for surrounding motorists?
